In the year 1922, this Institute of Teacher Training was named ‘Lady Willingdon Training School’ after ‘Lady Willingdon’ wife of Lord Willingdon, then Governor of Madras Presidency.

Those who have secured 50% of marks and above in part III and IV of Degree examinations alone need apply for B.Ed., course. This will be relaxed for SC/SC(A) / ST candidates.
