Bharat Ratna Doctor Puratchi Thalaivar MGR Arts and Science College was established on 24th July 2017. The college has started with Eight new UG Courses such as Tamil, English, History, Economics, Maths, Computer Science, BBA and Commerce.

The college was named Bharat Ratna Doctor Puratchi Thalaivar MGR Arts and Science College by the Honorable Chief Minister of TamilNadu Edapady PazhzniSamy in the function of Dr. MGR Centenary function which held in Dharmapuri District in the memory of former Chief Minister Dr. MGR. Our Chief Minister has issued relevant GO for the Above.

The college was affiliated to Periyar University in the academic year 2017 – 2018 and it was functionary in Govt. Boys Hr. Sec. School, Palacode
