Bharathi Women’s College has entered into the 55th year of glorious educational service to the population of the George Town located along the shores of Bay of Bengal Founded in 1964 as Government Arts College for women.

During the centenary celebration of the famous Tamil poet Subramanian Bharathi in 1981-82 this college was renamed as Bharathi Women’s College. Today the college has more than 4000 students and over 150 faculty members serving in 13 different departments.

Bharathi Womens College is Affiliated to University of Madras and is Re-accredited with A status by NAAC.
